Muscadet Le Fief Seigneur 2023 / Michel Delhommeau
Red 14% ABV ABV Michel DelhommeauNice find on a restaurant menu
Had this at a restaurant and liked it enough to track down a bottle. It's well-structured with good acidity. Goes surprisingly well with roast chicken. The 14% ABV sneaks up on you though, fair warning.
Good not great
It's decent. The finish is clean and it lingers nicely, but for almost £20 I expected a bit more wow factor. My partner liked it more than I did. Fine wine, just wouldn't rush back to buy another bottle.
Solid choice for a dinner party
Bought this for a dinner party last weekend and it went down well with everyone. Nice balanced acidity that kept things fresh even though it's 14% — didn't feel heavy at all. Would buy again but probably not every week at that price.
Bit pricey for what it is
Not bad but I've had better for less money. It's well made and the finish is pleasant enough, but nearly £20 feels steep. I'd want to be paying closer to £14-15 for this. One for a special occasion maybe.
Birthday present win
Got this as a birthday present and really enjoyed it. Love that it's not just another boring wine — there's real personality in the nose and the flavours unfold gradually. Delhommeau clearly know what they're doing.
Keep going back to it
Second bottle of this now. The acidity keeps everything fresh and lively, and there's a depth to it that rewards you for paying attention. My mate who knows nothing about wine just said "that's nice" which is high praise from him. Great with a cheese board.
Proper interesting wine
I've been getting into wine properly this year and this Delhommeau Muscadet is one of the more interesting ones I've tried. There's genuine complexity — layers of flavour that keep changing as you drink it. The nose is really expressive too, give it a few minutes in the glass.
Really impressed with this one
Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. Really aromatic — you can smell it as soon as you pour. Loads of depth on the palate too, not just simple fruity stuff. At £19.50 it's fair for what you're getting.
