First Impressions

Mumm 6 Champagne arrives at £46.75, and at this price, it needs to offer genuine quality to stand out in a crowded market. 75cl / 12% - A striking reinterpretation of the Champagne-making process, Mumm 6 offers complex aromas of marmalade, Mirabelle plums, apricot, brioche and baking spice that fill.

France's winemaking heritage needs no introduction, but the best producers continue to find new ways to express their terroir while honouring centuries of tradition. Mumm is a name worth knowing in this context.

On the Nose and Palate

The nose offers delicate nose of white peach, fresh bread, and a hint of chalk and lemon curd. Moving to the palate, the wine is precise and focused, with lemon curd, green apple, and a chalky texture that drives the palate. The finish is persistent and precise, with citrus, biscuit, and a beautifully dry, mineral close.

Food Pairing and Serving

Equally at home as an aperitif or alongside seafood, sushi, or delicate canapés. Serve at 8-10°C in proper flutes or, better yet, white wine glasses to appreciate the full bouquet.

The Verdict

Mumm 6 Champagne earns a well-deserved 8 out of 10. This is an outstanding champagne that delivers Chardonnay with genuine conviction and craft. At £46.75, this represents excellent value for money. Whether you are building a cellar or simply looking for something excellent to drink tonight, this bottle earns its place.

Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered a bottle. It's perfectly nice — crisp, appley, good bubbles. But honestly for £47 I think you can find Champagnes with a bit more personality. The Chardonnay-Pinot blend is well made, just didn't wow me.

Bought this for my 40th and honestly it was the highlight of the night. Really elegant bubbles, not aggressive like some cheaper fizz. You get this lovely lemony biscuity thing going on and it just keeps going. Worth every penny for a special occasion.

Served this with a seafood starter and it went down a storm. Dry and mineral-y with a long finish — everyone commented on how good it was. Not the cheapest option but it made the evening feel properly special.

I'm a bit of a Mumm fan and this is fine but I slightly prefer the Cordon Rouge for everyday drinking. The lemon curd flavour is nice and it's certainly elegant. Just felt like it was trying a bit hard to be serious when I wanted something more fun.

Picked up two bottles for New Year's and wished I'd got four. So fresh and clean with green apple and a sort of peachy smell. The bubbles are really fine and delicate. My partner who usually sticks to prosecco was fighting me for the last glass.

Had this at a friend's wedding and tracked it down afterwards. The bread and lemon notes are spot on — it's crisp without being sharp. At £47 it's not cheap but it's proper Champagne that doesn't disappoint.

Got this as a Christmas present from my sister. Even my husband who claims he doesn't like wine kept topping up his glass. It's got this amazing fresh bread smell and the finish is super dry and clean. Will definitely be buying more.

The wine shop guy recommended this over the Moët and it's definitely more interesting — chalky dry finish that I really liked. But at nearly £47 a bottle I expected to be a bit more blown away. Good, not life-changing.
