Mullineux Signature Swartland Syrah 2022
Red 14% ABV ABV MullineuxDecent Swartland Syrah
Tried this after seeing Mullineux mentioned a lot online. It's well made — nothing flashy, just honest Syrah with good fruit and a tight frame to it. I'd say fairly priced for the quality, maybe slightly on the high side. Would happily drink it again but wouldn't call it a must-buy.
Solid dinner party wine
Bought this for a dinner party and it went down well with everyone. Nice structure, good acidity that cut through the lamb we had it with. At £33 it's not an everyday bottle but it does the job when you want something a bit special.
Birthday treat that delivered
My partner got me this for my birthday and wow. There's so much going on — layers of flavour that kind of unfold as you drink it. Not heavy or over the top, just really well balanced. Loved every glass.
Good but a bit steep
It's a nice wine, don't get me wrong. Clean flavours, well made, nothing to complain about really. But for £33.50 I feel like I've had South African Syrahs that punch just as hard for twenty quid. Wouldn't rush to rebuy.
Proper grown-up Syrah
Had this at a restaurant and liked it enough to track down a bottle. It's not trying to be a fruit bomb which I appreciate. Firm tannins, good acidity, and a finish that hangs around nicely. Went great with a steak pie.
Absolutely loved this
I'm still fairly new to exploring wine beyond the supermarket shelf but this Mullineux Syrah blew me away. So smooth and complex without being intimidating. The finish is gorgeous — clean and long. Already ordered more.
Really impressed with this one
Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. Really lovely Syrah — not one of those big jammy ones, more restrained and elegant. The finish just keeps going. Would definitely buy again.
