Natasha Volkov VIPsAllowed - Picked this up on a whim
8/10

Saw this on the shelf at my local wine merchant and the solera thing on the label caught my eye. Really glad I grabbed it. It's not showy at all, more like quietly confident? The fruit and acidity are properly balanced and it just drinks really well. Great with cheese board.

Clara Johansson VIPsAllowed - So much going on in the glass

This is one of those wines that keeps revealing new stuff. First sip I got fruit and freshness, then by the second glass there was all this extra complexity coming through. Really restrained too at 12.5%, didn't feel boozy at all. Had it with some seared scallops and it was perfect.

Felix Moreau VIPsAllowed - Good but maybe overhyped?
7/10

Had this at a friend's dinner party and it was nice, definitely well made. Clean finish and good acidity. But honestly at nearly 70 quid I'm not sure it's twice as good as a decent £35 bottle. Would drink again if someone else is buying though!

Priscilla Nunes VIPsAllowed - Ruined normal Champagne for me
9/10

A mate brought this to our NYE party and now I can't go back to regular non-vintage Champagne. There's an actual character to it — you can tell someone cared about making it. The finish just lingers in the best way. Already ordered two more bottles.

9/10

Bought this for my 40th and wow, glad I splashed out. Really layered and interesting — kept changing as I drank it. Not your usual supermarket fizz by a long shot. At £68.50 it's not cheap but felt worth it for a special occasion.

Annika Svensson VIPsAllowed - Bit pricey for what it is
7/10

Look it's a nice Champagne, structured and balanced with good acidity. But I've had grower Champagnes at £45-50 that honestly come close. Grand Cru Verzy is cool and all but I think you're paying a premium for the name. Would rate higher if it was £55.

Tariq Hassan VIPsAllowed - Proper grower Champagne

The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something a step up from Moët. It's got this lovely complexity that builds as you drink it, not just bubbles and acid. The solera thing they do clearly works because it tastes like there's real depth here.

I'm pretty new to spending more than £20 on fizz but my partner convinced me to try this Mouzon-Leroux. OK I get it now. It actually tastes like something specific rather than just generic bubbles. The finish is clean and keeps going. Saving the second bottle for our anniversary.
