Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial Champagne / Half Bottle
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Moet & ChandonSolid but not mind-blowing
It's Moet, so you know what you're getting — reliable, well-made Champagne. Nice bubbles, good acidity, pleasant enough finish. I just wish it was a few pounds cheaper for a half bottle. Does the job for a Tuesday treat though.
Nice but I expected more
Always heard Moet was THE Champagne brand so maybe my expectations were too high. It's perfectly pleasant — dry, clean finish, decent bubbles. But for the price of a half bottle I thought I'd be more wowed. My mate brought a £15 Crémant to our dinner party last month that honestly gave this a run for its money.
Good for what it is
Had this at a restaurant first and then tracked down the half bottle to have at home. It's well balanced with a nice dry finish that doesn't leave any weird aftertaste. Not going to change your life but it's a dependable Champagne. The 12.5% is sensible too — you can enjoy it without it creeping up on you.
Perfect half bottle for two
Split this with my partner over a nice steak dinner and it was just the right amount. Really crisp and clean with enough going on to keep you interested. For thirty quid you get proper Champagne without committing to a full bottle that goes flat. Would definitely grab this again.
Bit steep for a half bottle
Bought this at Waitrose because I fancied something nice on a Friday night. It's fine, tastes like proper Champagne and the bubbles are lovely, but nearly thirty quid for a half bottle? You can get a decent full bottle of Prosecco for less. Nice but hard to justify regularly.
My go-to celebration fizz
I keep coming back to Moet Brut Imperial whenever there's something worth celebrating. The half bottle is perfect when it's just me treating myself after a long week. Genuinely tasty — proper fruit flavours and that crisp acidity that makes you go back for another sip. Worth every penny in my opinion.
Great little birthday gift
Picked this up as part of a birthday hamper for my mum. She loved it — said it was really elegant and smooth. The half bottle size is actually genius for a gift because it looks classy without being over the top. Clean taste apparently, she said it went down far too easily!
Decent midweek Champagne
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something nice but didn't want a whole bottle sitting around. It's got a confident sort of smell to it if that makes sense, and the taste is clean and balanced. Not as complex as some fancier ones I've tried but honestly really enjoyable.
