Martini Asti
Red 14% ABV ABV MartiniGood enough for pasta night
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something easy-drinking with food. Goes great with a bolognese. Nice and fruity with a bit of acidity that cuts through the sauce. Not my new favourite but does the job.
My new house red
Saw this on a menu at an Italian place and ordered a bottle to take home after trying a glass. Love the dark fruit flavours and it's got proper depth to it without being heavy. The acidity keeps it fresh and interesting. Three bottles in the rack now permanently.
It's fine, nothing special
Had this at a friend's house and it was alright. The dark fruit flavours are there but it didn't really wow me. For £10 I'd probably just grab something from the Lidl wine aisle instead — there's better value out there.
Solid red for the price
Picked this up from Tesco on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Really fruity nose, like proper dark berries, and it's got a nice warmth to it without being boozy despite the 14%. At just over a tenner, I'd definitely buy it again for a weeknight dinner.
Decent everyday red
I'm still learning about wine so take this with a pinch of salt, but I thought this was pretty nice. Smells really fruity straight away when you pour it. Could maybe be a couple of quid cheaper for what it is though — £10.25 feels slightly steep for a Martini.
Surprisingly smooth
Bought a couple of bottles for a dinner party and everyone liked it. The finish is really clean and it's one of those wines where you just keep going back for another sip without thinking about it. Dark fruit comes through nicely and it doesn't taste like it's 14% at all.
