Martinet Brun Mas Martinet Priorat 2021
Red 14% ABV ABV Mas MartinetGood midweek splurge
Saw this on a menu at a Spanish place and ordered a bottle for home after. It's got this stony mineral thing going on underneath the fruit which I really liked. Not a massive blockbuster wine but that's actually what I prefer. At 14% it's got enough body without knocking you sideways.
Solid Priorat without breaking the bank
I've had a few Priorats that cost twice this much and weren't much better. Good depth, nice acidity that keeps it interesting rather than just being a big heavy red. It opens up a lot after 20 minutes in the glass so don't just pour and chug it.
Really impressed with this one
Picked this up from a local wine shop on a recommendation and honestly glad I did. There's a lovely warmth to it, almost like sun-baked stones if that makes sense? Great with a slow-cooked lamb shoulder we did on Sunday. Would definitely buy again at £30.
Nice but expected more
Bought this for a dinner party and it was fine, everyone enjoyed it. But at nearly £30 I was hoping for something a bit more special? It's well made and clean tasting but didn't really blow me away. Might be better with food, we were just drinking it on its own.
Birthday treat that delivered
My wife got me this for my birthday after seeing it somewhere online. Really lovely stuff — proper fruit flavours but not jammy, and it keeps changing as you drink it. Had it with a ribeye and it was spot on. The finish just kind of lingers and makes you want another glass.
