Marsannay Blanc Le Clos 2022 Domaine Rene Bouvier
White 12% ABV ABV Rene BouvierDecent white, expected a bit more
Friend brought this to a dinner party and it was perfectly nice. Clean and well-made, good acidity. I just expected a bit more punch for the price if I'm honest. The finish was lovely though — kept wanting another sip.
Great find from Rene Bouvier
Been working my way through some Marsannay producers and this blanc from Bouvier is a standout. Low alcohol at 12% but doesn't feel thin at all — there's real structure and depth here. Restrained and elegant without being boring. Solid buy for a midweek treat.
Classy white burgundy
Bought this for my wife's birthday dinner and we both loved it. Super expressive on the nose straight away, and the acidity keeps everything fresh and interesting. Only 12% too so we didn't feel rough the next day. Would definitely buy again.
One of my favourites this year
I'm still fairly new to white burgundy but this has absolutely won me over. It's got this confident thing going on where it smells amazing the second you pour it. Taut and fresh on the palate with proper complexity underneath. Bought two more bottles.
Good but a bit pricey for what it is
It's a nice wine, don't get me wrong — clean finish, good structure, proper depth to it. But £42 for a Marsannay? I've had village-level burgundy at £30 that got me just as excited. If it was closer to £35 I'd rate it higher.
Lovely with fish
Had this at a restaurant last month and tracked it down online afterwards. Really well balanced — not too heavy, not too light. The finish just lingers in a really pleasant way that makes you keep sipping. Goes brilliantly with seafood.
Really impressed with this one
Picked this up from a local wine shop on the guy's recommendation and wow. Really crisp and clean with layers that keep revealing themselves. At £42 it's not cheap but honestly feels worth it for a special occasion. Had it with roast chicken and it was perfect.
