Manzanilla Barbiana NV / B.Rodriguez la-Cave
Red 14% ABV ABV B.Rodriguez la-CaveNot really my thing
Got this as part of a mixed case and it was my first time trying Manzanilla. It's very dry and has this nutty, almost savoury thing going on. I can see why people like it but I think I prefer something with a bit more fruit. Fine for the price though.
Good sherry for the money
Decent everyday Manzanilla. Nice almond flavour and that salty finish you want from Sanlúcar. Not the most complex sherry I've had but at £9.95 you can't really complain. Had it with some olives and ham and it worked a treat.
Brilliant with tapas
Picked this up after the guy at the wine shop said it was perfect for a tapas night we were doing. He was right — really salty and dry, almost like sea air in a glass. At under a tenner it's a no-brainer if you're into sherry.
Holiday memories in a bottle
This reminded me of drinking chilled sherry on holiday in Andalucía. Really fresh and briny with a clean finish that makes you keep going back for more. Served it cold with some prawns and crisps on a sunny afternoon — perfect. Would definitely buy again at this price.
