Good not great

Decent Champagne, well made and all that. Nice long finish and it opens up the more you sit with it. I just think for the price point there are a few others I'd reach for first. That said it went down very nicely with some cheese and crackers on a Friday night.

Stole the show at dinner

Brought this to a dinner party and everyone kept asking about it. It's got this confident, full character that stands out from your typical Champagne. The finish just goes on and on. My friend who "doesn't really like fizz" had three glasses.

Proper Champagne this

So much better than the big brand stuff at this price. You can actually smell something interesting when you pour it, not just generic fizz smell. It's got backbone and substance but stays really clean and balanced. Had it with roast chicken and it was perfect.

Birthday treat that delivered

Bought this for my 40th and honestly so glad I did. The bubbles are fine and elegant, and there's this lovely depth to it that you just don't get with the usual supermarket fizz. It lingered on forever after each sip. Worth the splurge for a special occasion.

Solid grower Champagne

Been getting into smaller Champagne producers lately and this Boutillez-Guer was a great find. Really expressive on the nose, you can tell it's been made with care. Good structure and the fruit comes through nicely without being over the top. At £52 it's fair for the quality.

Nice but bit steep

The wine shop guy recommended this and it's definitely good — clean finish, proper Champagne feel with some real complexity. But at nearly £53 a bottle I was hoping to be completely blown away and I wasn't quite there. Would maybe get it again on sale.

Really interesting Blanc de Noirs

Picked this up after seeing it on a restaurant list and wanting to try it at home. It's a proper Blanc de Noirs — you get that extra weight and fruit depth compared to lighter Champagnes. Acidity is spot on too. Will definitely be reordering.
