Mandrarossa Zibibbo Secco 2024: Clean Lines, Complex Finish
White 13% ABV ABV MandrarossaFine but nothing special
Decent enough white wine but I'm not sure it's worth fifteen quid. It's crisp and citrusy which is nice, but I've had similar from Sicily for a tenner. The peach flavour is quite pleasant though and the finish does linger which is a plus.
Really nice summer white
Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. Really lemony and refreshing, not sweet at all despite being Zibibbo which I always thought was a sweet grape? Goes down dangerously easy with fish and chips on a warm evening. Would buy again at £15.
Great find for a dinner party
Bought two bottles of this for a dinner party last weekend and everyone commented on it. Really clean and zesty with a lovely mineral thing going on underneath. One friend said it tasted like fancy lemonade which honestly isn't wrong. The 13% crept up on us though!
Interesting grape, solid wine
Saw Zibibbo on the label and had to try it because I'd never heard of it before. It's a nice dry white — loads of lemon and some stone fruit, almost peachy. That chalky dry finish is quite moreish. Not blowing my mind but I'd happily order it again if I saw it on a menu.
