Lucien Collard Grand Cru Extra Brut NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Lucien CollardSo much better than the usual stuff
Picked this up for a dinner party because I liked the label and the Grand Cru bit sounded fancy. Turns out it actually backs it up! Really fresh and crisp with loads of flavour. My mate who knows about wine said it was a great choice so I'm taking credit for that.
Solid Grand Cru fizz
Saw this on a list at a wine bar and ordered a glass. It's well made — clean finish, good complexity, you can taste the quality of the base wines. I just expected a bit more punch from a Grand Cru at this price point. Still very enjoyable though.
Nice but maybe a bit pricey
It's good, don't get me wrong. Dry, clean, decent length on the finish. But at nearly £45 I keep thinking I could get two bottles of pretty solid Crémant for the same money. Would I buy it again for a special occasion? Probably. For a Tuesday? No chance.
My new go-to for celebrations
Third time buying this now. Love how dry it is — no sweetness getting in the way, just clean bright Champagne with a lovely long finish. The mineral character is really nice too. At £45 it's my sweet spot for when I want something genuinely good without going completely mad on price.
Proper Champagne this
Bought this for our anniversary and wow, it really delivered. You can tell it's a cut above — the bubbles are fine, there's a lovely mineral thing going on, and it's bone dry without being harsh. At £45 it's not cheap but honestly it drinks like something twice the price.
Great pick from the wine shop
The guy at my local recommended this when I said I wanted something dry and interesting. He wasn't wrong — it's got real depth to it, proper fruit flavour underneath all that crisp acidity. Not your average supermarket fizz by a long shot.
Birthday treat that hit the spot
My wife got me this for my birthday and I'm glad she did. Really expressive on the nose — you get a lot going on before you even take a sip. The extra brut style means it's seriously dry, which I love, and there's a weight to it that makes it feel substantial. Finished the bottle far too quickly.
Converted me to dry Champagne
I normally go for something a bit sweeter but this has completely changed my mind. The acidity is bright but balanced, and there's a sort of biscuity richness underneath that keeps it interesting. Had it with some smoked salmon starters at a dinner party and it was perfect.
