Louis Roederer Collection 246
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Louis RoedererConverted my beer-loving husband
Brought this to our anniversary dinner and even my husband who normally won't touch wine said it was really good. The bubbles are so fine and delicate, and there's a confidence to the flavour that's hard to describe. Not too sweet, not too dry, just right. At 12.5% it goes down dangerously easy too.
Solid champagne, would buy again
The wine shop guy recommended this over Moët and I'm glad I listened. There's a lovely balance between the fruit and the acidity — keeps you coming back for another sip. Really clean finish too, nothing harsh or over the top.
Decent champagne, expected more maybe
Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered a glass. It's well made — clean, balanced acidity, nice fruit. But at this price point I was hoping to be blown away and it was more like quietly impressed? Still a solid 7 though, nothing wrong with it at all.
This is what champagne should taste like
Picked this up after reading about Louis Roederer online and I get the hype now. The nose hits you straight away — really aromatic and inviting. There's genuine complexity here, layers of flavour that unfold as you drink. Had it with some takeaway sushi and it was perfect.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my 40th and wow, it did not disappoint. Really crisp and lively with tiny bubbles that just keep going. The flavour has proper depth to it — not just fizz and nothing else like some champagnes. At £56 it's not cheap but for a special occasion it's absolutely worth it.
Nice but bit steep
Had this at a friend's dinner party and it was good, don't get me wrong. Lovely bubbles, nice and fresh, proper champagne taste. But at nearly £57 a bottle I'd probably stick with a decent Crémant for everyday drinking. One for occasions.
Great for New Year's
Got two bottles for New Year's Eve and everyone loved it. Really expressive on the nose and the bubbles are super fine, not aggressive at all. Good length on the finish — you can taste it for ages after each sip. Would definitely get it again for a celebration.
