Louis Roederer Collection 245 Magnum / Gift Box: Elegance Worth Celebrating
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Louis RoedererPerfect engagement champagne
Picked this up for our engagement celebration and the gift box presentation was spot on. Really smooth and layered — you get that fresh bread smell first then it opens up into something richer and almost nutty. The finish goes on forever. At 12.5% it's easy drinking too, which was dangerous on an empty stomach.
Birthday treat that delivered
Got this as a birthday present to myself because why not. The magnum in the gift box felt proper fancy, and the champagne backed it up — really creamy and rich with this lovely toasty thing going on. That lemony freshness at the end kept me going back for more. Worth every penny for a special occasion.
Bit pricey but I get the hype
My partner is really into champagne so I got this for our anniversary. She loved the flinty mineral thing it has going on. I thought it was nice — bubbly, lemony, bit of a bready taste. Would I buy it again? Probably not at this price when there's decent prosecco for a third of it, but I can see why people rate it.
Solid champagne for a dinner party
Brought this to a friend's dinner party and it was a hit. Everyone commented on the bread-y, pastry kind of flavour which I thought was really interesting. It's not cheap at £117 but for a magnum it's actually reasonable and it kept six of us happy through starters and mains.
This stuff is dangerously drinkable
Opened this for New Year's and honestly didn't expect it to be this good. There's a stone fruit richness that almost reminds me of a really good pastry, but it stays dry and crisp. The magnum format is perfect for sharing — or not sharing, I won't judge.
Classy without being stuffy
Had this at a restaurant and liked it so much I tracked down a bottle. There's a lovely dried apricot note on the nose that I really enjoyed, and it finishes super clean. I'm not a champagne expert by any means but this felt like proper quality stuff.
Good but maybe not £117 good
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something a step up from Moët. It's definitely nicer — more depth, kind of almondy and citrusy on the finish. But at this price I expected to be completely blown away and I wasn't quite there. Still very enjoyable though.
