Louis Roederer Collection 245 Champagne / Half Bottle
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Louis RoedererPerfect half bottle for two
Bought this for a quiet anniversary dinner at home and it was just the right amount for two people. Really crisp and fresh with lovely bubbles, and it sort of opens up the more you sip it. At £29.50 for a half bottle it's not cheap but it genuinely tastes like proper champagne, not just fizzy wine.
Nice but steep for a half bottle
The wine shop guy recommended this and it's perfectly fine champagne, clean and well-balanced. But nearly thirty quid for a half bottle is a lot when you can get a decent full bottle of prosecco for less. If someone else is paying, great. Otherwise I'd probably look elsewhere.
Treated myself and no regrets
Picked this up on a whim after a long week and honestly it was exactly what I needed. The bubbles are really fine and elegant and there's this lovely depth to it that kept me coming back for another sip. Half bottle is actually ideal when you just want a glass or two without committing to a whole bottle.
Good stuff, does the job
Brought this to a dinner party and everyone seemed impressed by the Roederer name. It's got a clean finish and nice acidity, pairs well with basically any starter. Not the most exciting champagne I've ever had but it's reliable and well made. The 12.5% ABV means you can have a couple of glasses without writing off your evening.
Genuinely surprised me
I'm not usually a champagne person but saw this on a restaurant menu and gave it a go. Wow. There's so much going on — layers of fruit and this bright freshness that just works. I don't know much about blending but whatever Louis Roederer are doing with this one, it's working. Already ordered a couple more half bottles online.
Solid champagne, nice depth
Had this at a friend's birthday and liked it enough to track down a bottle myself. There's a real layered quality to it — you get fruit first then this bright acidity that keeps it interesting. Good length on the finish too. I'd buy it again but probably for a special occasion rather than a Tuesday night.
