Louis Roederer Brut Nature Rose Vintage 2015 / Philippe Starck
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Louis RoedererNice but not sure it's for me
Saw this on a restaurant wine list and thought I'd splash out. It's clearly quality stuff and very dry and precise, but honestly I think I prefer champagne with a bit more sweetness and richness. My partner loved it though and said the aromas were incredible. Probably one for people who know their champagne better than I do.
Birthday treat
Got this as a birthday present to myself because the bottle design caught my eye (the Starck collab thing). Glad I did — it's really well made and the finish is so clean and long. Only slight gripe is I wish it had a tiny bit more fruit to it, but I think that's the no-sugar style. Still really enjoyed it with some takeaway sushi.
Really good but maybe not £109 good
Had this at a friend's dinner party and it's genuinely lovely. Super clean finish that keeps you going back for more, and nice fruit without being sweet at all. But I dunno, over a hundred quid is a lot for champagne when there are solid options at half the price. Would happily drink it again if someone else is buying though.
The no-dosage thing is real
So apparently this has zero added sugar which is the Brut Nature thing, and you can really tell. It's bone dry but not harsh — actually quite elegant and balanced. Took a few sips to really get into it but then I couldn't stop. The nose is amazing too, really expressive straight out of the bottle. Proper serious champagne this.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought this for our anniversary dinner and wow. No sweetness at all which I wasn't expecting but it works — really clean and crisp with proper depth to it. The rosé colour is gorgeous and the Philippe Starck bottle looks incredible on the table. At £109 it's not cheap but for a celebration champagne it delivered.
Best rosé champagne I've had
My wife picked this up after the guy at our local wine shop recommended it. I'm not usually a rosé person but this completely changed my mind. There's a precision to it that's hard to describe — everything just fits together perfectly. We sat on the balcony and finished the whole bottle in about an hour, zero regrets.
