Yuki Nakamura VIPsAllowed - Roederer never lets you down
9/10

I've had a few Roederer over the years and the 2016 vintage is right up there. Loads of character, properly layered flavours, and that clean finish where you just sit there nodding. Worth the money if you want champagne that actually tastes like something.

Opened this on New Year's Eve and it was gorgeous. Really expressive on the nose — could smell the stone fruit as soon as I popped it. Goes down dangerously easily for 12.5%. Would absolutely buy again for a celebration.

Picked this up for our 10th anniversary and it was perfect with the starter. Beautifully balanced, not too sweet, not too dry. The finish just lingers really nicely. Both of us loved it.

Had this at a friend's dinner party and liked it so much I tracked down a bottle myself. It's got this lovely stone fruit thing going on and the bubbles are really fine and elegant. Definitely a step up from the usual non-vintage stuff.

Nice champagne, no doubt about it. Crisp acidity, bready notes, proper grown-up fizz. But at £79 I kept thinking I could get two decent bottles of Crémant for the same money. Would I buy it again? Maybe for Christmas.

It's a well-made champagne for sure. Bready nose, tight and structured, decent length on the finish. I enjoyed it but at this price point I think I was expecting to be blown away and it was more of a steady 'yeah that's really nice' experience.

The guy at my local wine shop recommended this and I'm so glad he did. It's complex without being fussy — stone fruit, fresh bread, really clean finish. Light on its feet for something with so much going on. Already bought another bottle.

My wife got me this for my 40th and wow, what a bottle. Really bready and toasty with lovely ripe fruit underneath. At nearly £80 it's not an everyday buy but for a special occasion it's absolutely spot on.
