Lorca Espiritu Indomito Godello 2023
Red 14% ABV ABV LorcaGood but not a weeknight wine
This is the kind of wine you want to actually sit and pay attention to — pour it, give it a sniff, take your time. It rewards that. But at this price point it's not something I'd crack open on a Tuesday. Saving the second bottle for when we have people over.
Birthday treat that delivered
My wife got me this for my birthday and we both loved it. Really expressive aromas when you pour it and the flavour has proper complexity — not just one thing going on. At 14% it's got some weight to it too which I like in a white. Would definitely buy again.
Interesting grape variety
I've been trying to branch out from the usual Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay so gave this Godello a go. It's got a lovely freshness to it with a clean finish that keeps you going back for more. Nice with fish and chips on a Friday night, surprisingly.
Absolutely loved this
Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered it on a whim. So glad I did. The acidity is bright without being sharp, there's real depth in the middle, and the finish just keeps going. Tracked down a bottle to buy for home the next day. One of my favourite whites this year.
Solid white, bit pricey though
It's good, don't get me wrong — nice depth to it and the finish hangs around in a pleasant way. But at nearly £22 I'd want to be wowed, and I wasn't quite wowed. Would buy again on offer but probably not at full price.
Really nice find
Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. Never heard of Godello before but I'm a convert now. Loads of flavour, nice acidity, and it doesn't taste like every other white out there. Had it with roast chicken and it was spot on.
Not bad but expected more
Bought this for a dinner party because the label looked cool and the grape sounded interesting. It's decent enough, well balanced and all that, but for £21.75 I've had whites I enjoyed more. My mate liked it more than I did so maybe it's just me.
