Nice but pricey

It's a good wine, don't get me wrong — lovely dark fruit, well made, smooth tannins. But at nearly £35 I expected to be blown away and I wasn't quite. I've had Spanish reds at half the price that got me just as excited. Decent though.

Great with steak night

Opened this for a Friday steak night and it was a proper match. Dark berry flavours, hint of cedar on the finish. Thirty-five quid is a bit steep for a weeknight but it does feel like a treat. Would buy again for a special occasion.

Brilliant find

Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. The blackberry and cherry flavours are gorgeous and it's got this lovely earthy thing going on underneath. Tannins are smooth, not grippy at all. One of the best reds I've had this year honestly.

Absolutely stunning wine

I don't give 10s lightly but this deserves it. The nose is all cassis and blackberry with a touch of vanilla, and on the palate it just shifts into this elegant cherry and raspberry thing. The finish goes on forever. Bought two more bottles straight away.

Perfect dinner party wine

Brought this to a dinner party and everyone was asking about it. It's got enough going on to impress people who know their wine — the oak and vanilla are there but not overdone — but it's also just really drinkable. The long finish with that cedar note is the cherry on top.

Birthday bottle that delivered

My partner got me this for my birthday and wow. There's a minerally dryness on the finish that I really loved, almost like wet stone? And the fruit is really bright — cherry and raspberry mostly. At 13% it's not too heavy either. Proper grown-up wine.

Solid red, good structure

I've been getting into Spanish reds lately and this is a strong one. The tannins give it proper structure without being drying, and there's a nice balance between the ripe fruit and that slate-like mineral finish. Not an everyday wine at this price but I'd grab it for a nice meal in.

Saw this on a menu and tracked it down

Had a glass of this at a restaurant and spent the next week hunting down a bottle. The violet on the nose is subtle but really pretty, and there's a forest floor earthiness that keeps it interesting. Not just another fruity red. Worth the effort to find it.
