Haruki Sato VIPsAllowed - Surprisingly complex
8/10

I've been drinking wine for about five years now and this genuinely surprised me. There's a lot going on — layers of flavour that keep changing as you drink. The honey comes through but it doesn't make it sickly. Would absolutely buy this again.

Bought a couple of bottles from the Lindisfarne shop on holiday. It's a nice conversation starter at dinner parties because everyone wants to know what black beer and honey wine actually is. Drinks well enough and the alcohol is nicely hidden for 14%, but it's more of an occasional curiosity than a regular buy.

Got this as a birthday present from someone who knows I like trying different wines. It's definitely interesting — you can really smell it as soon as you pour, very distinctive. Decent enough but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to buy another bottle.

Sara Lindstrom VIPsAllowed - Bit confused by this one
5/10

Wife ordered this off a menu and we shared it with our meal. I couldn't really work out if it was trying to be a wine or something else entirely. It smells quite intense when you first pour it which I wasn't expecting. Not bad exactly, just not what I'd reach for when I want a red.

Lena Petrova VIPsAllowed - Really unusual but I liked it
7/10

Picked this up at Lindisfarne when we visited Holy Island last summer. It's not like any wine I've had before — the honey and beer thing sounds weird but it actually works. Pretty strong at 14% so be warned, two glasses and I was feeling it. At under a tenner it's a fun one to try.

Hannah Brooks VIPsAllowed - Not really my thing
5/10

My mate brought this round for a barbecue and honestly I wasn't sure what to make of it. It's very sweet for a red and I kept thinking I was drinking mead or something. The finish is alright, quite clean, but I'd rather just have a normal red for this price.

Alex Ramos VIPsAllowed - Great with cheese
7/10

Saw this in a gift shop in Northumberland and grabbed it on impulse. Ended up having it with a cheese board that evening and it was brilliant with strong cheddar. There's a nice balance to it, not too sweet, and for £9.50 I think it's fair value for something a bit different.
