Lelarge-Pugeot Nature et Non Dose Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Lelarge-PugeotProper grown-up champagne
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something dry but not boring. He was spot on. Really expressive on the nose straight away and there's this lovely mineral thing going on at the end that keeps you coming back for more. Would definitely buy again.
Interesting and different
Saw this on a restaurant menu and the waiter explained the "nature" style means no sugar added after fermentation. Really glad I tried it. The fruit flavours are ripe but balanced by this sharp acidity that keeps things fresh. Quite different from your standard big-brand champagne.
Nice but not sure I'd rebuy
Picked this up after reading about zero dosage champagnes online. It's well made for sure — lovely fine mousse and a long clean finish with a kind of stony mineral taste. But at nearly £70 a bottle I think I'd want to try a few others in that price range before committing to this one again.
Good but quite pricey
Had this at a friend's dinner party and thought it was really nice — crisp acidity, fine bubbles, genuinely complex flavours that changed as it sat in the glass. But then I looked up the price and £67 is a lot when you can get decent champagne for £40. I'd drink it happily if someone else was buying though.
Wow, this is the real deal
Bought this for my wife's birthday and we were both blown away. Zero dosage champagne can sometimes taste a bit harsh but this one is so clean and precise — the bubbles are super fine and it just keeps going on the finish. At £67 it's not cheap but honestly felt worth every penny for a special occasion.
Best champagne I've had in ages
I'm not usually a champagne person but this completely changed my mind. It's a non-dosage style so there's no added sugar and you can really taste it — everything is so focused and clear. The finish goes on forever. Paired it with some oysters on our anniversary and it was perfect.
