Priscilla Nunes VIPsAllowed - Lovely champagne, proper stuff
8/10

The wine shop guy recommended this as something a bit different from the usual big-name champagnes. It's made mostly from Meunier grapes apparently, which gives it this lovely ripe fruit character with a bright zing underneath. Really well balanced — had it with roast chicken and it was perfect.

Picked this up from a small wine merchant on a whim. First glass I thought it was nice, second glass I really started to get what the fuss is about — layers of flavour just kept coming through. That kind of champagne where you keep reaching for your glass without thinking about it. Shared it with friends on a Friday night and the bottle didn't last long.

Saw this on a restaurant wine list and thought I'd try it. It's decent — nice and clean, pleasant enough finish, not too heavy at 12.5%. But honestly I'm not sure it blew me away enough to justify the price tag. My partner preferred the prosecco we had last week, ha.

Brought this to a dinner party and got loads of compliments. It's got real depth to it — not just fizzy wine, actually tastes like someone put thought into making it. The finish hangs around in a really pleasant way. Will definitely be my go-to impressive bottle gift.

Bought this for my 40th and wow, glad I did. Really expressive nose — you can smell it before you even take a sip. The bubbles are fine and elegant and it just keeps getting better the longer it sits in the glass. Worth every penny for a special occasion.

Good champagne, no question. Clean finish, nice acidity, proper complexity. But at nearly £67 a bottle I kept thinking I could get two decent Crémants for that. Would I buy it again? Maybe for an anniversary, not a Tuesday.

I've been getting into grower champagnes lately and this Lelarge-Pugeot is a standout. Confident aromatics, gorgeous balance between fruit and acidity, and it genuinely evolves in the glass. The 2016 vintage has clearly had some proper ageing. If you're tired of bland supermarket fizz, try this.
