Legras & Haas Les Saillons 2015 Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Legras & HaasBest champagne I've had in ages
My mate works at a wine shop and has been going on about Legras & Haas for months, so I finally caved. Absolutely loved this. Really expressive on the nose, you can smell it before you even take a sip, and the flavour is layered and complex without being overwhelming. Already ordered another bottle.
Proper grown-up champagne
I'm not hugely knowledgeable about champagne beyond knowing what I like, and I really liked this. It's got a brightness to it but also feels substantial — not thin or overly sweet like some cheaper ones. Served it with roast chicken and it was perfect.
Solid pick from the 2015 vintage
Saw this on a restaurant wine list and the sommelier talked me into it. Glad she did. Nice structure, good acidity, and a finish that lingers in a really pleasant way. Only gripe is I wish it was a touch more fruit-forward for my taste, but that's personal preference. Quality stuff from Legras & Haas.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought this for our anniversary dinner and wow, it really delivered. Super crisp acidity but there's proper depth to it — not just fizzy wine, actually interesting to drink. The finish just kept going, still tasting it minutes later. At £93 it's not an everyday buy but for a celebration it's bang on.
Really good but not sure about the price
Had this at a friend's dinner party and it's genuinely lovely — clean, precise, serious champagne with a long finish. But at nearly £93 a bottle I'd probably reach for something a bit cheaper for regular drinking. For a birthday or Christmas though, absolutely.
