Laurent-Perrier La Cuvee Brut NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Laurent-PerrierSolid champagne, proper stuff
I'm slowly trying to learn more about champagne beyond just grabbing whatever's on offer, and this felt like a step up. You can taste the quality — there's actual layers of fruit and acidity rather than just generic fizz. The finish is really clean too, not harsh at all. Laurent-Perrier clearly know what they're doing.
Nice but a bit steep
Had this at a friend's dinner party and thought it was lovely — clean, crisp, proper champagne taste. Went and looked it up afterwards and £51 is a lot when you can get decent prosecco for a tenner. I'd buy it as a gift but probably not for a random Tuesday night.
The wine shop guy knew his stuff
Asked for a recommendation for my wife's birthday and the guy in the shop pointed me to this. She loved it. Really bright and fruity with a nice dry finish that keeps you going back for more. We paired it with some fish and chips which probably wasn't what they intended but it worked brilliantly.
Our go-to celebration fizz
We crack open a bottle of this every anniversary and it never disappoints. Really fresh and citrusy with loads of tiny bubbles, and it stays interesting right to the bottom of the glass. At fifty quid it's not cheap but honestly it's worth it for a special occasion.
