Laurent-Perrier Alexandra Rose 2012 Champagne / Magnum
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Laurent-PerrierThe rosé champagne that changed my mind
I always thought rosé champagne was a bit gimmicky until a mate brought this to a dinner party. It's so composed and precise, nothing like those overly fruity pink fizzes. The finish just goes on and on. Definitely a special occasion bottle — we paired it with some charcuterie and it was perfect.
Gorgeous but hard to ignore that price tag
Had a glass at a tasting event and it's genuinely lovely — really expressive nose and the acidity keeps everything fresh and interesting. But £765 for a magnum is steep even by prestige champagne standards. I'd give the champagne itself a 9 but knocking a point off because at that price I expected to be completely blown away, and while it's excellent, I've had Dom P vintages that impressed me more for less.
Best champagne I've ever had
My boss opened one of these at a work dinner and I'm still thinking about it weeks later. Perfectly balanced, not too sweet, not too sharp — just this incredible clean taste that lingers forever. I don't know much about fancy champagne but this one converted me. Now I just need to figure out how to justify the price to my wife.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought this for our 25th wedding anniversary and wow, it did not disappoint. The bubbles are so fine and elegant, and there's this lovely depth of flavour that just keeps going. At £765 for the magnum it's obviously not an everyday buy, but for a once-in-a-lifetime occasion it felt absolutely right. We kept coming back to it all evening and it just got better and better as it opened up.
