Laurent-Perrier Alexandra Rose 2004
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Laurent-PerrierOpened this for New Year and no regrets
I know nothing about fancy wine but my partner loves Laurent-Perrier so I splashed out on this for New Year's Eve. Even I could tell this was special — the blood orange on the nose, the long citrusy finish, it just kept getting better as we drank it. She cried. Worth it.
Beautiful but hard to justify the price
Tried this at a wine bar and it's genuinely lovely — really elegant pink grapefruit and strawberry with a long finish. But £350 is a LOT of money for champagne when there are solid rosé champagnes at a quarter of the price. Would happily drink it again if someone else is buying.
Impressed but not blown away
Picked this up on a trip to France last year. It's really good — nice acidity, proper dry with lovely berry flavours and a sort of chalky mineral thing going on. For the price though I expected to be completely floored and I wasn't quite there. Still a seriously good champagne.
The brioche notes are unreal
The guy at our local wine shop recommended this for a big family celebration and he was spot on. There's this amazing brioche and cheese thing going on with the smell that I wasn't expecting from a rosé. Super smooth bubbles too. We saved the bottle as a keepsake, that's how good it was.
Best rosé champagne I've ever had
Had this at a friend's birthday dinner and I genuinely couldn't stop thinking about it afterwards. The rose petal nose is so distinctive and the red berry flavours just keep going. Managed to track down a bottle myself — my wallet hates me but my tastebuds are thrilled.
Good but I expected more at this price point
Saw this on a restaurant menu and decided to treat myself. It's elegant and the wild strawberry flavour is really nice, and yeah the finish goes on forever. But at £350 a bottle I've had experiences I enjoyed just as much from champagnes costing half as much. A bit of a luxury tax on the name if I'm honest.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought this for our 20th wedding anniversary and wow. The strawberry and citrus flavours are incredible, and the bubbles are so fine and delicate compared to regular champagne. At £350 it's not something I'd buy every week but for a once-in-a-lifetime occasion it absolutely delivered.
