Laurent-Perrier Alexandra Rose 2004 Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Laurent-PerrierVery good but I expected more
Look, it's a lovely champagne and the 2004 vintage has clearly aged well — loads of complexity and a clean dry finish. But at this price point I was expecting to be completely blown away and I just wasn't quite there. I've had Dom P vintages for less that impressed me more. Still a solid buy if you're a Laurent-Perrier fan though.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought this for our 20th wedding anniversary and wow, it delivered. The bubbles are so fine and the flavour just keeps going — every sip has something new going on. At £315 it's obviously not an everyday thing but for a once-in-a-lifetime occasion it felt completely justified.
Gorgeous but hard to justify the price
Had this at a restaurant for a friend's engagement dinner. Absolutely beautiful champagne — proper depth to it, not like those simple fizzy rosés. But £315 a bottle is steep. I'd have it again if someone else was buying, put it that way.
Best champagne I've ever had
My wife got me this for my 50th and I'm still thinking about it weeks later. The finish on this is unreal, it just lingers and lingers and makes you want to keep drinking. Really elegant rosé colour too. I don't give 10s lightly but this earned it.
The wine shop guy was right
Went in looking for something special for a dinner party and the guy behind the counter talked me into this over a couple of other prestige cuvées. So glad he did. It's got this amazing balance where the fruit is rich but it never feels heavy. Everyone at the table noticed how long the taste stayed after each sip. Really confident champagne.
