Laurent-Perrier 2015 Vintage Champagne / Magnum
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Laurent-PerrierBest champagne I've had in years
The wine shop guy recommended this over the regular LP and honestly he was spot on. It's so expressive on the nose, you can smell the quality before you even take a sip. The acidity keeps it fresh and lively even though there's loads of ripe fruit going on. Genuinely outstanding.
Lovely but bit pricey for what it is
Had this at a friend's dinner party and it was very good, don't get me wrong. Nice and fruity with a clean finish that keeps you coming back. But I've had champagnes at half the price that I enjoyed nearly as much. Would I buy it myself? Probably not at £171.
Great champagne, big bottle
Got this as a birthday present for my wife. She loves Laurent-Perrier and the magnum format made it feel extra special. Really nice depth to it, proper grown-up champagne with a finish that lingers. Only knocking a point off because £171 is a lot of money at the end of the day.
Solid vintage champagne
Been getting into vintage champagnes recently and this 2015 LP is a really solid example. You can tell the extra time has done it good — everything feels well put together and balanced. The fruit is ripe but there's enough freshness to keep it interesting. Good stuff, would recommend if you can stretch the budget.
Proper celebration champagne
Saw this on a menu at a restaurant and decided to just go for it. So glad I did. There's a warmth and generosity to it that makes it feel really special without being over the top. The acidity cuts through perfectly and stops it being too heavy. Went brilliantly with the seafood starter.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought the magnum for our anniversary dinner and it was absolutely stunning. The bubbles are so fine and elegant, and there's this lovely richness from the 2015 vintage that just keeps going. We barely made it through half before we were already planning when to buy another one.
New Year's Eve sorted
Picked this up for NYE and it did not disappoint. The magnum is great for a group and it lasted really well through the evening — still tasting amazing by the third glass. Loads of layers to it, kept noticing different things each time I had a sip.
Nice but I expected more
I'm relatively new to champagne beyond Moët and Veuve so maybe my palate isn't there yet, but while this was definitely smooth and well-balanced I didn't get the wow factor I was hoping for at this price point. The finish is long though, I'll give it that. Would try it again in a restaurant before buying another bottle.
