First Impressions

Lamiable Eclat d'Etoiles Rose Grand Cru NV Extra Brut arrives at £47.50, and at this price, it needs to offer genuine quality to stand out in a crowded market. 75cl / 12.5% - A blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes from the Valle de la Marne, this Extra Brut Champagne works brilliantly with food, and can cope with everything from.

France's winemaking heritage needs no introduction, but the best producers continue to find new ways to express their terroir while honouring centuries of tradition. Lamiable is a name worth knowing in this context.

Ryan Mitchell VIPsAllowed - Really nice for a special night in
7/10

Bought this for our anniversary and it was a hit. Lovely bubbles, not too heavy, and I kept getting this nutty brioche thing going on that was really moreish. At £47.50 it's not cheap but felt worth it for the occasion.

Picked this up for a dinner party and everyone enjoyed it. Crisp, dry, nice apple notes on the nose. It's a grower champagne which is cool but honestly most of my friends wouldn't know the difference. Good not great.

On its own I found this a bit lean and serious. Had it with some smoked salmon though and it came alive — that dry almondy finish worked really well. Not one I'd grab for casual drinks but decent with the right food. Extra brut is drier than I usually go for.

5/10

Got this as a recommendation from the guy at my local wine shop. It's perfectly drinkable and the bubbles are nice and fine, but for nearly fifty quid I wanted a bit more wow factor. The almond and citrus flavours are pleasant enough, just didn't blow me away.

I'm not usually a champagne person but a friend opened this at her birthday and I was genuinely impressed. Really dry and mineral at the end, kind of makes you want another sip. The Pinot Noir comes through nicely. Would buy for myself now.

Ayako Hirano VIPsAllowed - Bit pricey for what it is

It's nice, don't get me wrong — dry, elegant, proper champagne. But I've had rosé proseccos at a third of the price that I've enjoyed just as much on a Friday night. If you're into your wines and appreciate the subtle stuff you'll probably rate it higher than me.

Had this at a restaurant and tracked it down online afterwards. Beautiful fine mousse and this subtle hazelnut thing on the nose that I loved. The citrus and brioche combo on the palate is just spot on. Grand Cru rosé for under £50 is decent value if you ask me.
