Ryan Mitchell VIPsAllowed - Birthday treat that delivered
9/10

Bought this for my 40th and honestly it was the highlight of the night. Really crisp and mineral-y, almost like wet stones if that makes sense? Zero dosage means it's bone dry which I love — no sweetness hiding anything. At £53 it's not cheap but for a special occasion champagne it's absolutely worth it.

Nia Okafor VIPsAllowed - Grower champagne convert
9/10

I've been getting into grower champagnes lately and this Laherte is one of my favourites so far. Blanc de blancs so it's all chardonnay and you can really tell — elegant and structured with loads going on if you pay attention. The brut nature style is so refreshing after years of drinking overly sweet fizz. Had it with some oysters and it was unreal.

Sophia Laurent VIPsAllowed - Bit pricey for what it is

Saw this on a restaurant wine list and looked it up later to buy a bottle. It's clean and well made, nice mineral thing going on, but for £53 I feel like there are better options out there. My partner thought it was a bit too dry as well. Would be a solid 8 if it was closer to £40.

Jackson Wu VIPsAllowed - Perfect dinner party champagne
8/10

Had this at a friend's dinner party and immediately asked where she got it. It's got this lovely focused quality — not fruity and obvious like a lot of champagnes. The finish just keeps going and makes you want another sip. Tracked down a bottle for myself the next week.

Idris Ibrahim VIPsAllowed - Nice but probably wouldn't rebuy

The wine shop guy recommended this as a "serious" champagne and yeah I can see what he means. Very clean, very precise, good acidity. But at over fifty quid I think I expected to be more blown away? It's good, don't get me wrong, but I'd probably grab a decent Pol Roger for less next time.
