Lagar De Costa Albarino 2024 / Rias Baixas
Red 14% ABV ABV Lagar De CostaSolid choice for dinner
Bought this for a dinner party and it went down really well with everyone. Good structure to it and enough depth to keep things interesting. Not the cheapest but you can taste the quality.
Really impressed with this one
Picked this up from my local wine shop on their recommendation and glad I did. Lovely fruit flavours, nicely balanced with a clean finish that keeps you coming back for more. At £21.75 it's not an everyday bottle but definitely worth it for a Friday night treat.
Birthday bottle winner
My partner got me this for my birthday and I absolutely loved it. Really expressive on the nose, you can smell it as soon as you pour. The finish lingers in a really satisfying way. Will definitely be buying this again.
Expected more honestly
Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered a bottle. It was fine, nothing wrong with it, but I've had better wines from Rias Baixas for less money. The fruit was nice enough but it didn't really stand out to me. Maybe I caught it on an off night.
Great find from Rias Baixas
I've been getting into Spanish wines lately and this Lagar De Costa is a solid pick. Good complexity, lovely balance between the fruit and acidity. Clean finish too. Not cheap but you're getting what you pay for.
Good with a roast
Had this with a Sunday roast and it held up great. Well balanced, not too heavy, not too light. The 14% ABV gives it a nice warmth without being overpowering. Would happily have it again.
Nice but a bit steep
It's a decent wine, don't get me wrong — pleasant enough with good acidity and fruit. But at nearly £22 I expected a bit more wow factor. Would probably pick something else at that price point.
New favourite for date night
Tried this at a wine bar last month and immediately tracked down a bottle to buy. It's aromatic and interesting without being complicated, if that makes sense. My girlfriend loved it too which is always a bonus. The finish just goes on and on.
