Laculle Freres Val Moignot Cuvee Bertil Andersson Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Laculle FreresGreat with a cheese board
Picked this up from a small wine shop on a whim because the guy behind the counter was raving about it. He wasn't wrong — really pure, confident flavours and the acidity cuts through rich food brilliantly. We had it with a big cheese spread on NYE and it was perfect. Would buy again for sure.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my wife's 40th and wow, it was special. Really expressive right from popping the cork — you could just tell it was a cut above the usual stuff. Lovely balance of fruit and freshness, and everyone at the table kept going back for more. At £90 it's not everyday drinking but for a celebration it's worth every penny.
Best Champagne I've had in ages
Tried this at a restaurant and immediately ordered a bottle for home. Seriously complex — every glass tasted slightly different as it opened up. Light enough to drink easily but there's real substance there. I don't give 10s lightly but this one earned it.
Nice but maybe not £90 nice?
Don't get me wrong, this is a good Champagne. Fruity, well balanced, nice clean finish. But at this price point I kept thinking I could get two decent bottles of something else instead. If someone gifted me a bottle I'd be chuffed, I'm just not sure I'd repurchase at full whack myself.
Proper Champagne, proper price
A mate who's really into his wines recommended this and I can see why. It's got layers to it — not just fizzy and sharp like cheaper ones. Clean finish that makes you want another sip. Only gripe is nearly £90 is a lot when there are solid options for half that, but quality-wise it's hard to argue.
