Laculle Freres Bourdon 2018 Blanc de Blancs Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Laculle FreresBest champagne I've had in ages
Absolutely loved this. Opened it for our anniversary and it was perfect — crisp, elegant, proper depth to it. The finish just lingers beautifully without being heavy. Already ordered another bottle.
Nice but bit pricey for what it is
It's a good champagne, don't get me wrong. Clean, well balanced, decent complexity. But at nearly £85 I've had bottles at £50-60 that I enjoyed just as much. If it was closer to £65 I'd rate it higher. One for a special occasion rather than a regular buy.
Classy but not showy
Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. It's one of those champagnes that doesn't hit you over the head — it's more subtle and layered, which I actually prefer. Took a couple of sips before I really got into it but then I couldn't stop. Would buy again for a nice dinner at home.
Birthday treat that delivered
My wife got me this for my 40th and wow, it really is something special. The bubbles are super fine and it's got this lovely toasty, biscuity thing going on that just kept me coming back for more. At £85 it's not cheap but for a special occasion Blanc de Blancs like this, I think it's worth it.
Went down a storm at dinner
Brought this to a dinner party and everyone was asking about it. It's really smooth with a sort of quiet confidence to it — not one of those over-the-top fizzy champagnes. Paired brilliantly with the seafood starter. The 2018 vintage clearly had some time to develop because there's real depth there.
Solid Blanc de Blancs
I'm still learning about champagne but I know I prefer Blanc de Blancs and this one is really nice. It's all Chardonnay so it's got that citrusy freshness but also something richer underneath. Took a while to open up in the glass but once it did it was great. The 12.5% ABV keeps it light enough to have a couple of glasses without feeling it too much.
