Tried this at a tasting and I'm ruined

Had this at a champagne tasting event and now everything else tastes flat to me. The way the fruit and acidity are balanced is just perfect. There's a richness from the lees ageing that gives it so much character. I'm saving up to buy a bottle of my own, 12.5% ABV but it drinks like pure luxury.

Worth every penny for a special night

Bought this for our 10th wedding anniversary and wow, it did not disappoint. The bubbles are so fine and elegant, and there's this amazing depth of flavour that just keeps going. At £346 it's obviously not an everyday bottle but for a once-in-a-lifetime occasion? Absolutely worth it.

Best champagne I've ever had

My boss opened this at a work dinner and I honestly didn't know champagne could taste like this. So much going on — layers of fruit and this beautiful acidity that keeps everything fresh. The finish just lingers and lingers. I get why people lose their minds over Krug now.

The wine shop guy was right

Went in looking for something special for my dad's retirement and the guy behind the counter pointed me to this. Said the 2011 was a great vintage for Krug. He was spot on — my dad said it was the best thing he'd ever drunk. Really confident, assured champagne that just commands your attention from the first sip.

Stunning but hard to justify the price

Got a glass of this at a restaurant and it was genuinely incredible. Really expressive nose, you could smell it before the glass even got to your face. Ripe fruit but not sweet, lovely structure. But £346 a bottle? I'd rather buy three really good bottles of something else honestly.

Really good but maybe overhyped?

Don't get me wrong, this is excellent champagne. Crisp acidity, loads of depth, nice long finish. But I've had bottles at half this price that gave me nearly as much enjoyment. The 2011 vintage is solid but I expected to be completely blown away at this price point and I wasn't quite.

Birthday present from my partner

This was my birthday gift and we split it over a long evening with some cheese and charcuterie. It opens up beautifully — at first it's all precision and then after 20 minutes in the glass there's so much more complexity. The finish is so clean and long. Felt very spoiled.

Shared with friends on New Year's Eve

Splurged on this for NYE and opened it at midnight. Everyone noticed how different it was from the other champagnes we'd been drinking. Much more serious and layered, with a finish that hangs around long after you swallow. A couple of my mates thought it was too subtle for a party though — probably better enjoyed somewhere quieter.
