Keith Tulloch Semillon 2021
Red 14% ABV ABV Keith TullochSurprised how much I liked this
Not gonna lie, I don't usually go for Semillon but this changed my mind a bit. There's proper complexity here if you pay attention — honey, citrus blossom, then this mineral thing on the finish. Had it with a chicken salad and it was perfect.
Bit pricey for what it is
Got this as part of a mixed case and honestly it was my least favourite. It's not bad, the citrus and mineral notes are pleasant enough, but nearly £19 for a Semillon? I've had similar quality for a tenner. The high ABV threw me off a bit too.
Solid midweek bottle
Saw this on a menu at our favourite restaurant and ordered a bottle to try at home. It's well balanced — not too heavy, not too light. The lemony citrus thing is nice and it doesn't outstay its welcome. Good stuff.
Birthday present win
My sister bought me this for my birthday knowing I like trying wines from different regions. Really enjoyed it — there's a floral quality on the nose that's quite pretty, and it drinks really smoothly despite being 14%. Clean finish too.
Decent but not sure I'd rebuy
It's fine. Nice enough citrus notes and the finish is clean, but at nearly £19 I feel like there are better options out there. My partner liked it more than I did to be fair.
Really impressed with this one
Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. The citrus flavours are lovely and it's got this clean, crisp finish that keeps you coming back for more. At under £19 it's a solid buy for something a bit different.
Hunter Valley does it again
I've been getting into Australian whites lately and this is a great example of why. That classic Semillon acidity is spot on — really zesty and fresh. The 14% ABV gives it a bit more body than you'd expect which I actually liked. Would definitely buy again.
Nice with seafood
Had this with grilled prawns at a dinner party and it went down really well. There's a honey thing going on underneath the citrus which I wasn't expecting. Good acidity too, cuts through richer food no problem.
