Joseph Perrier Cuvee Royal Brut NV Champagne / Half Bottle
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Joseph PerrierSolid champagne, nothing flashy
Got this for a small dinner party and it went down well. It's well balanced, not too sweet, not too dry. Good bubbles and a clean finish. Does the job nicely without breaking the bank too badly.
Nice with takeaway sushi
Had this with sushi on a Friday night and it was a great match. The acidity cuts through everything really well. It's got more going on than your average supermarket champagne — actually tastes like someone thought about making it rather than just churning it out.
Genuinely impressed
I've been slowly working my way through different NV champagnes and this is one of my favourites so far. The balance between the freshness and the richer, deeper flavours is spot on. The finish is clean and makes you immediately want another sip. Half bottle is perfect for two glasses each with dinner.
Good but not mind-blowing
Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered it. Pleasant champagne, nicely structured with good bubbles and a crisp finish. It's well made and easy to drink. I enjoyed it but I'm not sure it stood out massively from other champagnes I've had around this price.
Bit steep for a half bottle
It's decent champagne, don't get me wrong — fresh and crisp with nice depth to it. But nearly £27 for a half bottle is a lot when you can get a full bottle of perfectly good prosecco for less. I'd probably just go for their full size next time if I'm spending that much.
Lovely half bottle for a Tuesday treat
Grabbed this on a whim because I fancied something nice midweek but didn't want to commit to a full bottle. Really glad I did — it's got this brightness to it that just makes you want to keep sipping. Proper fizz, not one of those flat-tasting ones. At £27 for a half bottle it's not cheap but it felt worth it.
Perfect size for date night
My partner and I don't drink loads so half bottles are ideal for us. This was really lovely — lively and fresh with proper depth to it, not just fizzy water with a fancy label. You can tell there's some quality behind it. Already ordered a couple more for the fridge.
The wine shop guy was right
Went into my local looking for something for my wife's birthday and the guy behind the counter pointed me at this. Said it punches above its weight and honestly he wasn't wrong. There's a richness to it that I wasn't expecting at this price point. Really expressive on the nose too, you can smell it as soon as you pour. Will be going back for more.
