Jacques Lassaigne Le Cotet Blanc de Blancs Champagne: Elegance Worth Celebrating
Champagne 12% ABV ABV Jacques LassaigneGood not great for the price
Saw this recommended online and decided to splash out. It's nice — lovely fine bubbles, toasty smell, decent citrus freshness. But I've had blanc de blancs at £50 that weren't far off this. If you've got the budget go for it, otherwise there are better value options out there.
Best champagne I've had in ages
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something special but not Bollinger. Glad I listened. It's all Chardonnay and you can really tell — so fresh and elegant with this lemony finish that just goes on and on. Already ordered another bottle.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my 40th and honestly it was the highlight of the night. The bubbles are so fine and creamy, and there's this amazing toasty brioche thing going on that I couldn't stop sniffing. At nearly a hundred quid it's not an everyday buy but for a special occasion? Absolutely worth it.
Solid pick for a special meal
Picked this up for our anniversary dinner. The lemon curd and brioche notes are spot on — it's rich but doesn't feel heavy at all. Only thing is at 12% ABV and nearly £97 I felt like I needed to savour every sip rather than just relax and enjoy it.
Wow this is classy
I don't know loads about champagne but I know what I like and this was incredible. Super creamy texture, not too sweet, and it had this salty-ish finish that made me want to keep drinking it. Went perfectly with the cheese board we had out.
Really lovely but pricey
Had this at a friend's dinner party and it was genuinely delicious — proper toasted almond and brioche flavours with a chalky mineral thing on the finish. But £97 is a lot for champagne when you can get solid grower stuff for half that. Would I buy it again? Maybe for Christmas.
Converted me from prosecco
I usually just drink prosecco because champagne always seemed overpriced to me. A mate brought this to a BBQ and it completely changed my mind. There's this gorgeous almond and pastry flavour and then it finishes really clean and fresh. Now I get what the fuss is about.
