Isabel Sauvignon Blanc 2024
White 12% ABV ABV IsabelReally impressed with this one
Bought this for a dinner party and it went down a treat. It's got this lovely freshness to it without being too sharp — everyone kept topping up their glasses. The finish actually lingers which you don't always get at this price point. Would definitely buy again.
Pleasant surprise
Picked this up because the label caught my eye. At 12% it's nice and light for daytime drinking. There's a decent complexity to it, layers of flavour rather than just one note. Would be great for a summer barbecue.
Nice but a bit steep
It's a perfectly nice Sauv Blanc and I liked the clean finish, but £20 for this? I've had Marlborough Sauv Blancs at £12 that gave me more excitement. The restraint is fine if that's your thing but I like my whites a bit more punchy.
Got this as a birthday present
My sister bought me this for my birthday and I'm glad she did because I probably wouldn't have tried it otherwise. It's clean and fresh with a finish that sticks around. Not the most exciting wine I've ever had but it's genuinely well made. Drank the whole bottle over dinner no problem.
This is what good Sauv Blanc should taste like
So tired of those over-the-top tropical fruit bombs and this is the opposite of that. Really well put together — the acidity and fruit are properly balanced and it builds as you drink it. Had it with a simple grilled fish and chips on Friday night and it was perfect.
Absolute gem
Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered a glass on a whim. Ended up ordering a second. The nose is really expressive without being all over the place and there's proper depth on the palate — you can tell this isn't cheap supermarket stuff. Tracked down a bottle to buy at home. Love it.
Solid everyday white
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something a bit better than my usual £10 bottle. He was right — there's more going on here than just citrus. Nice balance and it doesn't disappear the second you swallow. Good but not mind-blowing.
