Il Torchio Il Bianco Vermentino 2022
White 12% ABV ABV Il TorchioReally nice white
Picked this up from my local wine shop on their recommendation and glad I did. Lovely citrusy flavours with something almost nutty going on — almond maybe? Really refreshing but with a bit more substance than your average white. Had it with grilled fish and it was spot on.
Good but a bit steep
Bought this for a dinner party and everyone enjoyed it, but honestly I think you can find similar quality Vermentino for a tenner less. The saline thing is interesting and it's got nice structure, just felt like I was paying a premium for the label.
Solid Vermentino
I've been getting into Vermentino lately and this is a good one. Nice herby nose, proper acidity that keeps you coming back for another sip. At £22.75 it's not an everyday wine but it's well made.
Summer dinner sorted
Had this at a friend's BBQ and immediately tracked down a bottle for myself. There's this lovely stone fruit thing going on with herbs and a salty edge that makes it super drinkable. Slightly waxy which sounds weird but actually gives it a really nice texture. Would absolutely buy again.
Absolutely loved this
My wife got me this for my birthday and wow. So much going on — herbs, stone fruit, minerals, a bit of lemon pith. It's got this crisp acidity that keeps it fresh but there's also weight to it. At 12% it's not too heavy either. One of the best whites I've had this year.
Nice Italian white
Saw this on a restaurant menu and liked it so much I found it online. Clean finish, not too fruity, not too dry — just well balanced. The almond and citrus notes are subtle but they're definitely there. Good with pasta or just on its own.
Decent weekend wine
Not bad at all. I don't know much about Vermentino but this was dry and refreshing with a clean finish. Had it with pizza on a Friday night and it worked really well. The dried herb smell is quite nice. Would probably grab it again if it was on offer.
