Henriot Brut Souverain NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV HenriotBest Champagne I've had in ages
I'm not usually one to spend £40 on a bottle but this was absolutely worth it. The aromas hit you straight away and it just keeps getting better in the glass. Brought it to New Year's and everyone asked what it was.
Good not great
Decent Champagne that does the job. Nice and fresh with fine bubbles and it goes down easy at 12.5%. I enjoyed it with some takeaway Thai food which worked surprisingly well. Would probably try something different next time though just to compare.
Really elegant stuff
Picked this up after seeing it on a restaurant menu and wanting to try it at home. There's a real layered quality to it — you keep noticing new things as you drink it. Not a massive fruit bomb, more restrained and classy. Perfect with some smoked salmon starters.
New go-to celebration fizz
Bought this for my wife's birthday and we were both really impressed. The bubbles are super fine and it's got this lovely depth to it — not just generic fizz. At £40 it's not cheap but it genuinely tastes like proper Champagne should. Will definitely be buying again.
Lovely for a special dinner
Served this at a dinner party with friends and it went down really well. It's got a freshness to it but also some proper depth — not just a one-note fizzy wine. The finish lingers in a really pleasant way. Henriot clearly know what they're doing.
Nice but maybe a bit pricey
Had this at a friend's dinner party and it was pleasant enough. Good bubbles, decent fruit, nothing to complain about really. But for almost £40 I'd probably want something that wows me a bit more. I've had £25 bottles that come close to this.
Solid Champagne for the price
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this when I asked for something a step up from Moët. He was right — it's more interesting and complex without being intimidating. Nice bright acidity and the finish is really clean. Good all-rounder.
