Priya Sharma VIPsAllowed - Good not great for the money
6/10

Maybe my expectations were too high but at £59 I was hoping for more of a wow factor. It's perfectly nice — clean, balanced, appley with some bready notes. The finish is pleasant enough but a bit understated for my taste. I prefer something with a bit more punch personally. Not bad by any means, just not my style.

Valentina Ricci VIPsAllowed - Solid champagne, nothing flashy
7/10

Had this at a restaurant and liked it enough to track down a bottle. It's well made — nice acidity, good bubbles, pleasant fruity flavours. Doesn't knock your socks off but it's reliable and classy. At 12.5% it's easy drinking too. Decent pick if you want something a bit different from the big names.

Noah Williams VIPsAllowed - A step up from the usual
8/10

The guy at my local wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something nicer than Moët for a dinner party. He wasn't wrong — it's got a proper depth to it, fruity but with this savoury edge that keeps it interesting. Everyone commented on it which was nice. Good shout.

9/10

Bought this for our anniversary dinner and wow, it really impressed. You get this lovely biscuity smell when you pour it, and the bubbles are super fine and elegant. At sixty quid it's not cheap but honestly felt worth it for a celebration. Would definitely buy again for something special.

Kai Oliveira VIPsAllowed - Really grown-up champagne
8/10

I'm no expert but even I could tell this was a cut above. It's not sweet or simple — there's loads going on, like baked apple and something almost bread-like? The finish is clean and makes you want another sip. Had it with some cheese and crackers and it was perfect.

Annika Svensson VIPsAllowed - Birthday treat that blew me away
9/10

My partner got me this for my birthday and I'm obsessed. It smells incredible straight out of the bottle — proper fruity and biscuity at the same time. Really well balanced too, not too sharp, not too heavy. Genuinely one of the best champagnes I've had.

Jake Morrison VIPsAllowed - Nice but is it £60 nice?
7/10

Look, this is a good champagne. The bubbles are really fine and it's got lovely apple-y orchard fruit flavours with a biscuity thing going on underneath. But at nearly sixty quid a bottle I'm not sure it's that much better than some champagnes at half the price. I'd wait for a deal.

Served this at a dinner party and got so many compliments. Nobody had heard of Henri Giraud which made it feel like a cool find. It's got this savoury biscuity quality alongside the fruit that makes it feel really sophisticated. The bubbles last ages in the glass too. Will be my go-to hosting champagne now.
