Zoe Chen VIPsAllowed - Surprisingly smooth

Saw this on a restaurant wine list and ordered a glass. For 14% ABV I expected it to be a bit hot but it's really well balanced. Ended up buying a bottle to take home. Would be great for a dinner party where you want something that looks a bit more special than your usual supermarket red.

I'm not usually one for reds over £15 but this was worth it. Really aromatic when you pour it, and it's got proper depth — like layers of fruit that keep going. Had it with a lamb stew and it was perfect.

Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended Henners. It's a nice well-rounded red — good fruit, decent structure, nothing to complain about really. Not the most exciting wine I've ever had but I finished the bottle happily enough.

Bought this for a Saturday night curry and it held up brilliantly. Big fruity nose, proper body to it, and you'd never guess it was 14% — goes down way too easily. At £17.50 I'd definitely buy it again.

Had this at a friend's dinner party and it was fine. Clean tasting and easy to drink but for nearly £18 I think you can do better. The finish was nice though, kept me coming back for another sip.
