Guy Méa Cuvee L'Assemblage NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Guy MéaGreat find for the price
Had this at a friend's dinner party and immediately asked where she got it. For around £40 you're getting a champagne that genuinely tastes complex and interesting — not just fizzy and sharp like some cheaper ones. The finish sticks around in a really pleasant way. Already ordered a couple of bottles for Christmas.
Punches above its weight
Not a name I recognised but took a chance on it and really pleased I did. There's a richness to it that builds the more you drink — started thinking it was just okay and by the second glass I was properly impressed. Goes brilliantly with a cheese board. The acidity keeps everything fresh without being too tart.
New favourite champagne
I'm still fairly new to champagne beyond the big brands so take this with a pinch of salt, but this is probably the best I've tried at this price point. It's got loads of depth and the fruit flavours really come through without being sweet. Picked it up after seeing it recommended online and zero regrets.
Proper champagne, this
Bought this for my wife's birthday after the guy in the wine shop recommended it. Really glad I did — it's got this lovely crisp freshness but also feels like there's a lot going on underneath. Way better than the usual Moët we default to. At forty quid it's not cheap but honestly felt worth it for a special occasion.
Nice but not sure I'd rebuy
Decent champagne, don't get me wrong. Clean, well-balanced, good bubbles. But at £40 I keep comparing it to some cremants I've had for half the price that weren't miles off. If someone poured this for me I'd be happy, I just wouldn't rush out to buy it myself.
