Gutierrez Colosia Fino Del Puerto / Half Bottle
Red 14% ABV ABV Gutierrez ColosiaBit steep for a half bottle
It's fine, perfectly drinkable, but £12.25 for a half bottle feels like a lot when you can get a full bottle of decent wine for that. The yeasty quality was interesting and it's well made. Just wish it came in a full bottle at this price.
Holiday discovery
Had this at a sherry bar in Spain last year and tracked down a bottle back home. Still as good as I remember — dry and bracing with a salty tang that makes it incredibly drinkable. Served it ice cold with some almonds and it was perfect. 14% ABV creeps up on you though!
Not really my thing
My partner ordered this at a restaurant and I tried a glass. Very dry and quite salty which I wasn't expecting. I can see why people like it but I think I prefer something with a bit more fruit. The finish was nice though, clean and not too harsh.
Punches above its weight
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted a fino under £15. Really impressed — there's a depth to it that you don't always get at this price point. Dry fruit flavours and a lively acidity that keeps you coming back for more. Will definitely rebuy.
Lovely stuff from El Puerto
I've been getting into sherry lately and this is a really nice example of a fino. Bright and saline with a genuinely interesting dry character. The acidity keeps everything taut and focused. At around £12 for a half bottle it's fair for the quality you're getting.
Solid fino, nothing flashy
Decent everyday fino. Nice yeasty nose and quite bracing acidity which I like. Does the job well but I wouldn't say it blew my mind or anything. Good value though if you're into sherry.
Great little sherry for the price
Picked this up from a wine shop on a whim because I wanted something different with tapas night. Really dry and crisp with a salty edge that went perfectly with olives and jamón. At £12 for a half bottle it's not exactly cheap but the quality is there.
Nice with seafood
Bought this for a dinner party where we were doing a whole Spanish spread. It was perfect chilled alongside some prawns and fried fish. Quite direct on the nose, proper sherry smell. Half bottle was actually ideal for sharing between three of us as a starter wine.
