Gusbourne Rose 2019 Sparkling Wine
Sparkling 12.5% ABV ABV GusbourneMy new favourite celebration wine
Saw this on a wine list and took a chance on it. So glad I did. It's got real depth to it, layers of fruit and a sort of focused sharpness that keeps everything balanced. Already ordered more for our anniversary.
English sparkling is seriously underrated
Had this at a restaurant and liked it so much I tracked down a bottle to have at home. Really elegant, not too sweet, and the finish just lingers nicely without being overpowering. Gusbourne clearly know what they're doing.
Nice but bit pricey
It's a good sparkling rosé, well made and clean tasting. But at nearly £50 I kept thinking I could get a decent Champagne for that. Would buy again if it was on offer though.
Great for a special dinner
Picked this up for a dinner party after the guy in the wine shop recommended it. Everyone commented on it which never happens with the prosecco I usually bring. Nice crisp acidity and it's got more going on than most sparkling rosés I've tried. Not cheap at fifty quid but felt worth it for the occasion.
Proper English fizz
Bought this for my wife's birthday and we were both really impressed. Lovely pink colour in the glass and it's got this freshness to it that keeps you coming back for more. Honestly preferred it to the Champagne we had at Christmas.
Solid but wouldn't rush to rebuy
Pleasant enough sparkling rosé. Clean finish and nicely balanced at 12.5% so you're not falling over after a couple of glasses. I just didn't get the wow factor I was hoping for given the price tag.
Smashed it with the Sunday roast
Not gonna lie I don't know loads about wine but my partner got this as a gift and we cracked it open with a roast chicken. Went down an absolute treat. Really refreshing with nice fruit flavours and it looked gorgeous in the glass too.
