Guillaume Sergent Les Pres Dieu 1er Cru Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Guillaume SergentNice champagne, bit subtle for me
Brought this to a dinner party and everyone enjoyed it. It's definitely well made and I liked how clean and precise it tasted. Personally I prefer something with a bit more richness but my partner absolutely loved it. The bubbles are really delicate which is nice.
Good but maybe not £58 good
Had this at a friend's house and thought it was really nice — clean finish, not too sweet, lovely bubbles. But honestly at that price I'd probably reach for something a bit cheaper for everyday drinking. If someone else is buying though, absolutely yes.
Proper champagne, not just fizz
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this and I'm glad he did. There's a real sharpness to it that I loved, like a proper backbone holding everything together. You can tell this is made by someone who actually cares. Would buy again for a nice dinner at home.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my wife's 40th and we were both blown away. Really crisp and precise, not your usual heavy champagne — the bubbles are super fine and it just keeps giving you more flavour the longer you sip. At £58 it's not cheap but for a special occasion it's absolutely worth it.
This stuff is seriously good
Okay so I'm no expert but I know what I like and this is fantastic. It smells incredible straight out of the bottle, really aromatic and interesting. The acidity keeps it fresh and lively and it went perfectly with the seafood pasta we made. Already ordered another bottle.
Impressed by this one
Picked this up after reading about Guillaume Sergent online. It's a grower champagne so you're getting something with real character rather than big brand stuff. Lovely mineral quality to it and the finish just lingers nicely. Solid 1er Cru for the money.
New favourite for celebrations
Saw this on a restaurant menu a few months back and tracked down a bottle to buy. Really expressive on the nose and the balance is spot on — enough fruit to keep it interesting but with this lovely taut acidity running through it. Not an everyday buy at £58 but it's my new go-to for when we've got something to celebrate.
