GSM Ver Sacrum 2021
Red 14% ABV ABV Ver SacrumDecent enough
Bought this for a dinner party because the label looked cool and the guy at the shop said it was a great GSM blend. It was fine — fruity, smooth, easy to drink. Nothing blew me away though. My mate brought a £12 Côtes du Rhône that honestly gave it a run for its money.
Good but not cheap
Nice wine, well made, no complaints on the taste. Lots of layers and it got better as the bottle opened up. At £21 though I'd want it to be special and it's more like reliably good? If it dropped to £15 I'd have a case of it.
Really solid red blend
Picked this up from my local wine shop on a whim and glad I did. There's a lot going on — dark fruit, a bit of spice — but it all works together really well. Opened it with a slow-cooked lamb shoulder and it was a perfect match. Would definitely buy again.
Keeps getting better in the glass
What I liked about this is it didn't just hit you with everything at once. First glass was nice, second glass was properly interesting — kept finding new things in it. Clean finish too, no weird aftertaste. Had it with a cheese board on a Friday night and it was spot on.
Solid pick for a steak night
Saw this recommended somewhere online and tracked it down. It's a well-balanced red with good structure and enough fruit to keep things interesting without being jammy. 14% ABV so it's got some weight to it. Not an everyday bottle at that price but a nice treat for the weekend.
