Graham's Late Bottled Vintage 2019 Port
Fortified 20% ABV ABV GrahamsDecent but nothing special
It's fine. Does the job if you want a port after dinner but I've had better from Quinta do Noval for a few quid more. The minty thing going on was a bit unexpected — not sure if I loved that or not. Would probably just spend a bit more next time.
Perfect with chocolate cake
Bought this for my wife's birthday dinner and it went amazingly with the chocolate dessert. Really rich blackberry taste and it's got this lovely warming finish that just lingers. The guy in the wine shop recommended it and he was spot on.
Great port for the money
Picked this up from Majestic on a whim and really glad I did. Lovely blackcurrant flavour and it's not too sweet like some ports can be. At under £18 it's now my go-to for after dinner with a bit of cheese.
Solid everyday port
Had this at a friend's house over Christmas and went out and bought my own bottle the next day. Nice dark berry flavours and a bit of spice on the finish. Not the most complex port I've ever had but absolutely fine for the price.
Nice but a bit grippy
Brought this to a dinner party as a gift and we cracked it open after the meal. It's got loads of dark fruit flavour and a sort of liquorice thing going on which I liked. Found it a touch drying on the tongue though — maybe needs to breathe a bit longer than I gave it. Still, good value.
Good introduction to port
I don't really know much about port but saw this on a menu at a restaurant and ordered a glass. Ended up buying a bottle — it's fruity and easy to drink without being too sugary. The 20% ABV does sneak up on you though, fair warning!
Genuinely impressive LBV
Graham's rarely let you down and this is no exception. The tannins give it real structure and there's a black tea quality on the finish that I really enjoy. For under £18 this is punching well above its weight. Had three bottles of this over winter and would happily buy more.
