Gosset Extra Brut Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV GossetProper grown-up champagne
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something dry and interesting. He wasn't wrong. Really clean finish and the bubbles are fine and elegant. It's the kind of champagne that makes you slow down and actually pay attention to what you're drinking.
Stole the show at our dinner party
Picked this up after seeing Gosset mentioned in a few places online. Served it with some nibbles before dinner and everyone kept asking about it. Really confident flavour, great acidity, and that dry finish is so moreish. Already ordered another bottle.
Good but maybe overhyped?
Had this at a friend's dinner party and it was nice enough — dry, well balanced, decent complexity. But for nearly fifty quid I think I expected to be more blown away? I'd probably reach for a good crémant at half the price for everyday drinking.
Bit pricey for what it is
It's a solid champagne, don't get me wrong — nice and dry, clean finish, smells lovely once it opens up. But at £48 I feel like you're paying a bit of a premium for the Gosset name. I've had similar quality for £35-40.
New go-to celebration bottle
Bought this for our anniversary dinner and wow, it really delivered. Super crisp and dry with loads going on — every sip tasted a bit different which kept me coming back. At £48 it's not cheap but honestly felt worth it for a special night.
Perfect for people who don't like sweet fizz
My wife hates sweet champagne so I grabbed this extra brut for her birthday. She absolutely loved it — said it was the best fizz she's had in ages. Really taut and focused, not fruity or cloying at all. The low dosage really works here. Will be our new go-to for celebrations.
Really impressed
I'm not massively into champagne usually but this changed my mind a bit. It's bone dry with no sweetness at all, which I loved. The aromas kept opening up the longer it sat in the glass. Would definitely buy again for a birthday or Christmas.
