Gosset Celebris Brut 2012
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV GossetBest champagne I've ever had
My boss brought this to a dinner party and I'm still thinking about it weeks later. It's so precise and layered — every sip had something new going on. I don't usually rate things 10 but this one earned it.
Impressive but my wallet is crying
Tried this at a restaurant after the sommelier recommended it and honestly it's gorgeous. Super balanced, bright but with real depth to it. Had to look up the price afterwards though and yeah, I won't be buying cases of it anytime soon.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought this for our 10th wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. Really complex — you get layers of flavour that keep changing as you drink it. The finish just hangs around in the best way. At £160 it's not an everyday thing but for a celebration it's spot on.
New Year's Eve winner
Opened this at midnight on NYE and it was absolutely the right call. Generous on the nose, firm and structured when you drink it, and that finish just keeps going. Even my mate who normally drinks lager said it was unreal. Gosset clearly know what they're doing with this one.
Proper grown-up champagne
Got this as a birthday present from my brother who knows his wine. It's a 2012 vintage and you can tell — there's a richness and maturity to it that you don't get from regular fizz. Clean finish that lasts ages. Really lovely stuff.
Great but a lot of money
Look, it's very good champagne. The balance between the fruit and acidity is genuinely impressive and it smells incredible straight out of the bottle. But £160 is £160 and I've had bottles at half the price that got me nearly as excited. One for a really special occasion only.
Smooth and seriously good
Picked this up from a wine shop in town after the guy behind the counter talked me into it. Glad he did. It's not showy or over the top, just really well put together. The fruit comes through gradually which I liked — felt like it rewarded you for actually paying attention.
